I have a caravan...alternator tested bad 2 weeks ago...had it replaced. Belt squeaked incessantly...annoying. tonight as I turned onto a street, the squeak stopped, then the steering got stiff, the a/c started blowing warm humid (it was pouring rain) air, the van seemed to shudder and I immediately cut off the headlights which kept the vehicle from dying. However...the a/c continued blowing hot air...I turned it off. The steering increasingly worsened...I was able to get home and park it. I stopped by auto zone and they said the diodes passed the test however the voltage regulator failed...they then told me it was internal power control...according to my research that would be the powertrain control...it also said that it is not servicable...so what is this power control module? my mechanic said he thinks it is probly the belt that it can cause all this...our voyager is in the driveway cause it loses power and stalls at red lights. No one can fix it either.
