Van starts then immediately turns off. Took it to mechanic and he tells me his scanner can't read the Van's computer? Why?

Van is a 3.8 ltr.

Hi there ,

there could be a problem in the cars ECU often if there is no down load this is the problem, but it also could be in there equipment, i would try another mechanic and if there scanned dose the same thing, i would be suspect a faulty ECU.

Thanks Mark, The mechanic is rechecking the computer with another scanner. I hope it's his equipment.

Problem solved! Mechanic cleaned out corrosion around bottom of battery and ECU wires. Computer now works and Van runs!

Thanks -- donation being made now!
