Engine Mechanical problem
1997 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 184 k miles

Hi We just changed our engine on our Dodge Gran Caravan, ignition module, fuel pump, and filter, new computer, battery, battery terminals, and more. We were wondering how would we see if the ignition coil was bad without a meter. We are not getting no spark from the ignition coil to the distributor.

A 3.0L is now a new 3.0L and no spark from coil? Was the same electrical system wiring harness used? Where was the control module bought and was it also from a 3.0L same year? Without shutdown relay energizing, no spark, no fuel, no dist. Signal, no current to coil, no spark. You should hear this relay click on when cranking or even turning key on. Does the check engine light come on? There are many reasons that the coil won't fire. Make sure the PCM is getting power from the fuses under the hood in the power center. The ignition key also supplies it with power.
