Heater problem
1995 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

The heater has gradually stopped providing heat. I am pretty sure its the thermostat. Where is the thermostat on the engine?

You will find the thermostat housing under the intake manifold after taking the manifold off. You could also follow the upper radiator hose to your thermostat housing if this is easier for you.

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION:
On passenger side of van the top radiator hose is clamped over a "gooseneck" on top of motor. Remove clamp. Pull off the hose. Remove bolts from "gooseneck" and remove.
The thermostat should now be exposed. It will probably be stuck into position so use a pair of pliars and gently pull and twist on the top of the thermostat and it should pop out of place.
Installation is reverse of removal procedures.

NOTE:
Remember how your thermostat is installed so you install the new one in the right way.

Hope this helps..
