While driving on the HWY., I have noticed the engine seems to hesitate at times, and then wants to slow, and then kicks up a bit. Does this mean I may need a tune up, or is the timing belt going (gone ) ?
I drive about 300 miles a week for work- all highway, and I get great gas mileage- about 18-22 mpg.

It's not a timing belt issue. Might be tune up releated. May be a sensor going bad, may be a connector that is corroded or slightly loose. Could be a weak fuel pump.

Best bet is to have a garage that is capable of troubleshooting diagnose the problem. They will hook a scanner and or a pressure gauge up to it and monitor it when the problem is happening. There may be codes stored in the computer to aid in the diagnosis.
