I have 1993 caravan. When i'm driving the oil pressure is where it noramally is suppose to be, but when I go to apply the brakes or let off the gas the pressure drops. What could cause that?

Thank you we will change that tonight, but we were told to check the oil pressure in the van after it had warmed up to see if it is that piece or something else. What is the recommended oil pressure suppose to be? I found were that piece goes thank you.
Should we check to see what the pressure is before we change the piece, then change the piece and check it again?

Replaced the switch. The oil pressure registers higher than normal but is still all over the place. We are going to put the gauge on it today. Do you know what the pressure should be once the gauge is on (at idle). Thank you

Oil Pressure
Oil pressure should be 5 psi (.35 kg/cm2 ) at curb idle and 30-80 psi (2.1-5.6 kg/cm2 ) at 3000 RPM with engine at normal operating temperature

Read 65 psi @ 3000 rpm, but reads like around 22 @ idle.
Is that alright, or should I not run it. Levels are right on. Could it be the gauge on the dash?
Thank you so much for everything that you've helped me with
Michelle

We also put in a new thermostat, water pump, pvc valve & new air filter. The gauge on dash still moves all over up & down (with the oil pressure).
Then when you go to pull up to a light or stop sign the heat turns warm/cold. Then once you apply to the gas it turns warm/hot. What could be causing this problem?
