Is replacing the distributor labor intense? Why does is cost so much to have it replaced? Where is the distributor located? Can I do it my self?

Yes, it is labor intense and I would not recommend repairing this yourself unless you are experienced with mechanical repairs. To find the distributor, just follow the plug wires from the spark plugs to the distributor.
