Okay, so I have had this code for the thermostat and I finally broke down and change the thermostat and the valve cover gaskets, cleaned the plenum and what not. It was running good but now I get these codes C1298, I do have a small transmission leak from the cooler, but its controlled, also P0446, P0128, P0442 I noticed a small leak from the drivers side cat U1301, and U1040. It's using high fuel consumption and rpms are over rev. When starting to take off until about 2nd gear hard shift.

442/446 are evap problems like a leak and or the solenoid is blocked or needs replacing. There is no code U1040 or c1298 however the code U1301 is a class 2 can /bus problem and a professional has to diagnose that because it may be a shorted wire between a couple of modules or a module is out on the same line causing the problem. Also low battery voltage or a battery in poor shape may cause some of these so have the battery checked for condition including load test.
