My dash lights are not working. The fuse is good all lights are working except the gauge lights. The rheostat is burnt up at that plug I have twelve volts on both the green wire and the white/green wire. I cannot figure out why I have voltage on the ground wire (white/green.

Hello,

It sounds like you might have a bulb or socket that is shorted. I would remove the cluster to check the lights. Here is a wiring diagram (below) and a guide for the system so you can do some testing and get the problem fixed. You will need to replace the rheostat switch as well.

Please let us know what happens.

The dash lights do not come on when I turn on the lights the 15 amp tail fuse was blown, I replaced it and it blows as soon as I turn on the lights. I then found that the rheostat was burnt up, I tried to bypass it but the fuse blew then as well. I then put in a 25 amp fuse and it holds all lights are working except the dash lights and the clearance lights under the head lights in the front bumper at the plug for the rheostat. I have three wires a green hot, a white/green that is hot (I am sure it is not suppose to be) and a white/red ground. I cannot find why I have voltage on the white/green I am sure that is my problem. Any ideas what it could be?
