1996 Daihatsu Charade Battery running flat
Electrical problem
1996 Daihatsu Charade 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 210000 miles
Hi
Have a new battery installed in the car and it goes flat overnight.Put an amp meter on the battery and it is drawing 4.6 amps with the key in the off position.
Pulled all the fuses in the car and under the bonnet one by one to try and pinpoint the problem but it didnt solve anything.The only way I can get the amps to drop is by removing the two smaller leads that go to the positive side of the battery.
Any info on fixing this problem would be much appreciated.

Hi there, do this same test and have the alternator unplugged, you may have a faulty diode in the rectifier, this will back feed voltage and draw the battery down ad still give a charge rate albeit some what lower than normal, check this out next.
