Hi, I would like to know about what I should expect to pay at an independent repair shop in order to compare with my inflated dealership cost for the following items suggested for replacement:

"Sway Bar Bushings - Rear Links and Bushings"
"Control Arm Bushings"
" *Subaru - Four-Wheel Alignment"

Currently having rear brake pads and rotors replaced.
Ultimately deciding how much more repairs to do.

Hello KEG90,

You are probably looking at between $500-$700 for parts and labor.

I say probably because labor rates can vary widely from shop to shop, state to state.

Also, alignments can be much more expensive depending on the shop, but they might also give you a discounted rate if you are getting control arms and other work done.

You didn't say whether it was the front arms you were doing or the rear, so I priced the front for you. You can expect closer to $900 if you do the rears. Book time on rear arms is 3.8 hrs. And front are 2.8hrs.

A good way to save money is to buy your own parts so they can't mark them up. Then you will just have to worry about labor.

I made a quote for you from my software to give you an idea of the labor times which will help negotiate with service advisors or mechanics.

At the end of the day, you have the power. They want and need the work. So, try to negotiate.

Let me know if I can provide you with any more information.

Thank you,
Brendon
