I have a 1990 buick century v6 3.3l a while back the service engine light kept coming on so I ran a diagnostic on it and it came up fault 26 in the computer. I recently switched computers on the car with one I got from a scrap yard. My question is do I switch the computer chip from my old car to the new computer or leave it alone? Any help is appreciated thanks.

why do you think it is the computer????

the prom must be from your car. i would never use a junk yard unit.

It was the computer because like I said in the summary of the problem the old computer was reading a code 26 which is a quad module circuit inside the computer. That's why I switched the computers out but I asked on here what do I do with the computer chip from my old computer? Does it get put in the new computer I got or not?
