I have a clanking noise in the front end of my truck sounds like metal on metal. Yesterday I put new shocks and still have the noise. I checked the sway bars and the seem fine. What else could it be?

Hi,

Do you only hear it over bumps? Have you checked ball joints? Did you replace the strut mount at the top? See picture 1.

Let me know.

Hello,

Some of the Ram's trucks built on or after November 20, 2014 had brake pedal and steering column noise. Bulletin Number: 23-003-15. This may or not be the noise your hearing but good to know. The sway bar pivot movement at the bottom is sometimes hard to diagnose because it just takes a very small movement to make noise. The inner tie rod has any movement at all will make a metallic noise. Check for tie rod free-play movement. I'm attaching schematics points of interest below off the front suspension and also check the brake caliper bolts. Please let us know if this information was helpful or if you need more info.

Thank you
Joe T.
