Engine Performance problem
2002 Citroen C4 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 120000 miles
my car loses power and belches out black smoke . feels like it is pulling back on itself but is an intermitant problem . if i take the strain off the engine and rev the car puff of smoke then the car runs fine any help would be greatly appreciated

change the fuel filter and add a good fuel cleaner to the tank to clean the lines and injectors !
