Transmission issue

2000 Chrysler T&C, 114,000mi., 3.8 liter:

When just started the transmission takes a very long time to engage after it is put into reverse or drive. Transmission also slips during this time also. When warmed up and driven for a while the transmission seems to work just fine.

Sometimes the trany will refuse to shift into higher gear and the rpm's will rev (again only when first driving the vehicle), If I pull over shut the vehicle down and then start it again the tranny seems to start working immediately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you.[/quote:4f52d0fac7] CHANGE OUT YOUR INPUT AND OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR ON YOUR TRANSMISSION ON THE OUTSIDE DRIVER SIDE THEY BOTH LOOK ALIKE BUT DIFF PART # I THINK 1 IS BLACK AND THE OTHER BEIGE ALSO IF TRANS FLUID IS DIRTY CHANGE OUT AND AT EVERY TRANS SERVICE ADD A LUBE GUARD IT WOILD BE A BLACK COLORED BOTTLE THAT WILL SAY DODGE OR CHRYSLER ON IT OR ATF+3TRANS ADDITIVE I HAD THE SAME PROB WITH MY 96 TNC E604 IT WOULD DROP GEARS AND WOULDNT SHIFT TO SECOND AT TIME S I HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE ENGINE BUT SAME OCCURED BUT THIS WILL TAKE CARE OF IT YOU CAN BUY THESE PRODUCTS AT YOUR LOCAL NAPA AUTO PARTS STORE !!!!! THIS SHOULD SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM
