How can I tell if my master cylindar is bad or if my break booster is bad. 1999 Town and Country traction control 3.3 engine. Brake pedal is gettin very hard to depress and when I hold it down there is a "gassing or hissing" sound down by the brake pedal?

Hi there,

With the noise you mentioned it sound like the booster has failed. The best test for a booster is to pump the brake pedal with the engine off, the pedal will feel hard. With foot on brake start the engine and the pedal should suck down a little, if not the booster is faulty, the noise you are hearing is vacuum leaking from the booster, it will need o/hauling or replacing.
