I have a 2005 Town and Country that is making rattling noises when going over small to medium size bumps. The rattling only occurs once above 15mph. The rattle is so loud that it can be heard from 3 to 4 blocks away. I replaced the rear shocks and tightened all of the heat shields to no avail. I cannot find anything loose upon visual inspection. The rear sway link bushings are a little worn but not terribly. The bushings attaching the sway bar to the axle tube seem in good condition. The calipers on the rear disc brakes don't appear to be loose nor a pad or the parking brake cable. The exhaust system hangers are tight and unbroken. I am hearing a lot of feedback that it is the sway bar links from the dealer. My research says they go out as early as 45K miles. The rattle is across the entire rear end regardless if the bump is on the right or left side. I would suspect that because of this it would be the sway bar or axle tube, perhaps even the catalytic. HELP PLEASE!

I know this is a long shoot. Since you posted in 2009. Did you ever find out what was wrong? We replaced the sway bar, catalytic, dealer told us is was the hitch. We took it off our self. Dealer $ 80.00. Took it to different dealer. Said it might be the spare. $69.50 we took it off our self. Still there. Going crazy
