I have had 2 episodes over the last week where my gas pedal locks up. I can not push it down. It occurs while driving with no warning.
I have to allow the car to slow down to a stop - then turn off the ignition. As soon as I restart the car, seconds later, it functions normally.
ANy ideas?

Do you have a alarm system or remote starter? If yes then check to make sure the modules are not interfering with the gas pedal.

I've experienced this bizarre phenomenon several times over the 81K of mileage in our 2005 T&C - it's not electrical at all; it's something in the footboard where the pedal passes through the floor. It literally seems to BIND the darned pedal in such a way 500 lbs. Of force won't get it to depress. Freaky, scary too.

All I do is jiggle the pedal with my foot - side to side a bit - and it seems to do the trick. Always has worked for me. No expensive price tag fix, just a "jiggle the handle" kind of fix.
