Heater problem
2003 Chrysler Town and Country 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
I have developed a leak in the supply lines to the rear heating unit. The location is along the frame on the passenger side. Problem is, the line has cracked at the weld which holds the mounting bracket to the line. In order to replace the line, I will need to replace the entire "diverter" on the firewall which takes the incoming hot water and separates it to feed both the front and back heating units. From the area near where the crack is, it the broken steel pipe is connected to an aluminum pipe by a rubber hose. Both pipes are nippled to prevent the hose from sliding off. I guess my question is, would I be safe in just cutting out the bad section of pipe (which would include remove the nippled end, and connecting the two with a longer hose? or would the pressure cause the hose to slip off?
