My minivan is about seven years old now. Everytime it goes over some bumps it rides extremely rough and even has some knocking noises that seem to come from the front wheel well.
I have never replaced the schock and/or struts and I think this is the problem. However, I don't know the difference between the two and if the van even has both. Could you please tell me if this is the problem?
If so how much would it cost to replace these.

Thanks

Yes, I believe your correct. Your vehicle has struts in the front and shocks in the back. Your going to pay about an hour of labor for each strut. The shops cost alot of money for their shocks/struts but if you buy them yourself and just pay the labor to have them put on, you'll save a pretty penny!
