It has always shifted fine until today. No it shifts from 1 st to 2nd fine it then tops out at 40 miles per hour. It really kind of stays in that gear even as you slow down.

What is the problem?

Kind of interesting. My 2001 did the same thing today. After researching, the 'not shifting' is actually by design. It's called Limp Mode. It's to alert the driver that there's something wrong with it.

In limp mode, you only have 2nd gear I think. Are you sure it's shifting from 1st to 2nd or maybe it's realy just starting out in 2nd gear?

Was yours 'bucking' while shifting up or down?

Mine shifts into 1st gear and wants to stick a little. But i've noticed if I let off the pedal then it shifts into second.

But, when I slow down it doesn' want to shift back into 1st gear.

?? Did you get yours fixed? What did you find was the problem?

Thanks,
