Hi,

I wen't to start my van tonight and at first it started.
But it only ran a couple seconds and stalled. Did that twice. I then tried to keep the rpm's up around 3k and it still just ran a couple seconds then stalled. Did that twice. After that it wouldn't even try to turn over. I could here a very light click but no crank from the starter. I am afraid this could be 2 separate problems.I hope not. I am going back out there now to check it out further.

Thanks for any help!

At first it sounded like a fuel pump problem. But now the starter doesn't work. Have a helper turn the key to the start position and check to see if there is 12 volts to the smaller wire on the starter. Let me know what you find.

Wow. Just user stupidity!

We couldn't find our keys so I used my spare which was never programmed to start the car. We just had it as a spare to open the door if we locked the keys in the car. What threw me was that it let it start, but only run for a few seconds.

Thanks for the reply though.

I'm glad you figured it out. At least you know the security system works. Let us know if you have questions in the future.
