In the last 2 weeks, my air vents have been giving off a coppery smell whether I'm running the AC or just fresh air. Doesn't seem to smell when the heat is on. It's strong when I first start the van and will lessen after a couple minutes, but you can still smell it. How can I get rid of it? I've been told there may be a HEPA type filter and changing it may correct the smell.

Know I live in FL and just went through Hurricane Faye (20+ inches of water on the roads).

As for the definition of "coppery smell" - the best way I can explain it is the taste you have if you touch the top of a battery with your tongue.

try changine the fliter and spraying inside the vents with hot water with bleach put in it, that could cure the smell and clean things up let me know.

also try to dry the vents.

Thanks blackop555

when you say change the filter, do you mean the regular engine air filter or is there a different air filter?
