Hi there,

This may be a belt that has stretched and the adjuster can not keep adequate tension up to it, or some minor misalignment in a pulley, allowing it to walk off when wet and a bit slippery, don't use any belt grip in a can, this will only make matters worse, check for a worn belt and check for any pulley misalignment.

Don't let your mechanic use a cheap aftermarket belt. Ask for a Gates belt, and replace the tensioner with an OEM from the dealer. It might cost a little more, but definitely worth it!
