My 2002 Chrysler Sebring Lxi has 97,000 miles. Recently the oil pressure light indicator comes on emittingly while the vehicle is at a stop. While driving the light does not come on. More recently the light stayed on during the entire stop but off as I began to move. Someone suggested I may have trash in my oil system. What do you recommend and how long can I drive the car under these conditions?

Hi there,

You should change the oil & filter and get the oil pressure tested with a master gauge. If the sender is working as it should it is telling you that you have very low oil pressure at idle. If this is the case you will have to get the system checked & tested by someone who fully understands the lubrication system to advise what to do next. If you do have low oil pressure and don't do anything about it, you will run the risk of destroying your engine.
