Engine Performance problem
1997 Chrysler Sebring 6 cyl Automatic 80000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 1997 Chrysler Sebring that has temperment issues. It has plenty of gas. The battery has been checked. The lights and everything electrical starts when I turn the ignition to on. About once a week the engine turns, but won't start. It turns over and over, but won't catch. Then the next day it will just start right up. I've had the battery checked and it's fine. I had it plugged into the computer diagnostic thing and it wouldn't provide any info at all (the computer didn't even register the computer was attached at all) Every time I take it to my mechanic it starts just fine and he can't find anything wrong. The times it shuts down it's at my house or work and there isn't a mechanic nearby.

Are you saying a scanner can't communicate with the computer? Have you tried accessing any possible codes, by using the key cycling method. You turn the key, (on/off on/off on) you turn the key till the dash lites come on, you don't crank it, then the check engine lite goes to flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes, if there are any. Can you check for spark at the plugs, when the vehicle refuses to start?
