Ok. WTF. Wednesday, out of nowhere, my car decides not to start. So, being me, I attempt to take off the battery to get it checked out at carquest. It didn't end up happening cuz it was bolted down & a pain in the ass. I reconnected the cables and Behold! It started. It was fine all day yesterday and today a no go. WHAT is going on???

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. Car is 2006 PT Cruiser--only 65 k. It made some noise when I tried to start it. Almost like a purring sound--ddeeeddeddedededed. Is this a battery problem, a starter, or an alternator? I have had my alternator go before on other cars, this doesn't seem like that. The lights and radio DO turn on. Any thoughts anyone???

Hi REMiller21, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation, this what keeps the site going-

Bring the battery in and get it load tested if okay make sure you have a cleaned and tight connections. If its not cranking over/nothing at all when key at starting position, your possibilities could be the starter motor, starter relay, transmission range switch and ignition switch-
