Help please! I have been to an auto repair shop multiple times and the dealer as well. The car overheats unpredictably about once a week or so while stopped at a light. The repair shop indicates that what is happening is that after the car warms up and when it is in the process of "starting to overheat" the expansion of the cooling fluid sends "excess" into the reservoir but unexplainably continues until it is about a fourth to a third low. That is when the "real overheating" occurs. The car has a new radiator, thermostat, water pump, thermostat housing, and several new radiator caps. They have tested the engine block for exhaust gases in the coolant three times. They carefully checked the reservoir return hose for leaks or blockage. They have left the car running for hours to (unsuccessfully) duplicate the problem. They have run out of ideas. Any suggestions?
