Transmission problem
2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 2001 PT Cruiser. I have replaced both transmission speed Censors, and both fan relays, and the temp. censor. The vehicle will still not come out of low gear. It will speed up, but not change gears. I was told to turn the car on and off three times and then end with it on and some codes would appear, I did and they are as follows: P 1490, P 1489, P 1698, P 1495. Please help me with a def. of the codes and what i should do to fix it. ANd could it be the TCM? thank you.

I think the PO1698 is the problem here. It means: No messages received from the electronic transmission control module or the Aisin transmission controller.

Chances are the control module is bad, but have it checked before replacing it. It can get expensive.
