I am at a loss as to what to do. We have a 2001 PT Cruiser. It started overheating and we determined that it need more coolant. We got the proper coolant and things went well, but then again it overheated. After talking with my mechanic we decided to replace the radiator cap. This seemed to fix things, but then I started getting the coolant blowing back into the coolant resevoir. My mechanic has run numerous chemical tests to see if there were any signs of gases in the cooling system and all were negaive. He has checked the coolant flow and the fan is running both high and low speed. We were concerned about the head gasket, but with the negative chemical test and the pressure test came out normal my mechanic doesn't think it is that. Any suggestions as to what we can try or could it still be the head gasket or water pump. Please help.

Hi dlfawcett, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation this is what keeps the site going

If there's no leak at all-Get him to test the thermostat if okay -have him bleed the cooling system if okay-do a block and pressure tests again

Also get him to check if the radiator is clogged and the water pump is doing its job
