2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 146K miles

My car is running crappy, the engine light is on. I checked the code : P0301 which is misfiring on cyl #1, . What needs to be done? You input is greatly appreciated.

Misfire cylinder 1 may include replacing the spark plug on cylinder 1, possibly the spark plug wire, and possibly the coil itself.

This is what I would do. Based on your mileage, if the basic tune up has not been done in the past year, I would start by replacing ALL spark plugs and the wires. Once that is done, reset your computer. If the CEL comes back on AFTER replacing the parts and resetting the computer, and the same code pops up, than you have to replace the coil.
