1992 LeBaron GTC convertible was running great, then suddenly out of the blue today, it started missing on the way home and quit. Went to restart it, it would start then quit. Hubby ended up walking part way home before someone picked him up. We live way out in the country.

While he was gone, I checked the codes, I do not know if they work if he unplugged the battery, because he did try unplugging the battery to see if it would reset itself. But it did not. I got a 12 21 and 55. Oxygen Scensor. He says it is probably a false reading because, it would still run, but it would drive rough. I am not sure, but am taking on myself to come and ask all you guys. What do you think?

these kind of things is like opening up a can of worms... could be a number of things.. everyone has an idea that worked for them but might not work for you... So always start off with the less expensive thing and work your way up..

Plugs, wires, cab, rotor, fuel filter, fuel pump, injector(s),map sensor, pvc valve, or air filter.. Not in any order.. thats a few items.. even most mech. well say its this and its not and just go down the line until fixed.

well let us know whats going on and good luck with this task... jess s.

Thanx :D

Hubby ended up pulling the two gas lines to check the pressure, and that seemed good. He said, he disconnected the map sensor, and noticed a valve was disconnected, connected it back up. And it appears to be running fine. Told him to take it for a drive, and I would check the codes when he got back. Code ended being 14 (map sensor), car was still running good, but we ended up getting a map sensor and Oxygen sensor just to be sure. I could not hurt anything.

It is purring like a kitten now

Thanx Alot!! ;)

I am afraid everything was going well, but I took it to town the other day, and it started missing, and wanting to die. I pumped the gas pedal, and it took off, but it would do it again, I finally put my pedal to the medal, and got it cruising to 130 k, and it seemed to run good the rest of the way home.

I did the scan, and it showed 21, I think that is oxygen sensor again, but the one in there is brand know, so, I am lost again.

I guess it is back to the old grindstone.

Thanx :((
