sometimes, when I start my car, i will notice the aultinator gadge on 0, the car will not start, just crank. if i either slam my driver door or adjust my tilt wheel, the auternator will go to normal and the car will start and run. now, as I drive down the road and hit a bump the power will shut off completely jerking us forward. If we move the tilt slightly, it will run again. It does not happen everyday, and often very unexpected. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Bill

If I had to guess, either you have a short in the steering wheel or the ignition switch itself is going bad or loose. That is where I would start looking for the problem.

Let me know what you find.
