heres the thing im thinking its still the alternator.i had bought one fom the junkyard with a 12month warranty. when i did the install the first time i managed to tweek on a bolt to hard and kinda snapped it off. b4 i had that fixed at the junkyard i had the alternator tested by a parts store. it seemed to test ok and they retested it when they fixed the bolt. the voltmeter read about 10-12v in the car. so i had the battery tested out of the car.so i put in a new battery. i put my multi meter on it when the car is running and only get 11.8V. So now im at a lost im not sure if the alternator is putting out what it should be for amps. any ideaswould be helpful. o and the alternator is a 90amp nippondenso for a 3.3Lv6 new yorker

Measure the voltages on the three wires on the back of the alternator. You must have full battery voltage on the large output wire all the time. One of the small wires must also have full battery voltage but it will only be there for one to two seconds when you turn on the ignition switch. It should also be there again when the engine is running. Likewise, with the engine running, the second small wire should have less than battery voltage, but not 0 volts. 4 - 10 volts is typical. Assuming the first two voltages are present, this third voltage is key in determining the next thing to check. Let me know what you find.
