I went to see if my Alternater is causing my vichles power to fail thanks to AutoZone it was confirmed that it'll need to be replaced. My question is after I purchase the new alternater how do I go about step by step taking it out then putting the new one in? PLEASE HELP! - Julie

Sorry for the delay in replying. Has the problem been handled yet?

Start by removing the battery's negative cable. Unbolt the fat wire and unplug the two small wires on the back of the alternator. The easiest way to find the bolts that must be removed is to look at the new unit. To remove the belt, there will either be a pulley on a spring-loaded arm, or a pulley that has a locking nut on the bolt it spins on, and an adjusting bolt.
