in the morning the car usually will not start unless you shift from park to neutral several times trying the ignition. it seems to be worse now that it is colder. it will usually only start in neutral now. once it starts and you run it for a while there is no problem starting the car the rest of the day from park or neutral, but the next morning you need to repeat the procedure. also, when in park sometimes you cannot hear a click when trying to start but you always hear a click in the neutral position. when it does "catch" it fires right up.

if you think it is a neutral safety switch please advise where this is and how to troubleshoot to confirm.
thanks in advance.
