Seem to have a sporadic electrical problem that discharges new battery. Typically car runs fine one day but once in awhile well sitting overnight (sometimes even a few hours), battery looses its charge & car will not turn over. Alternator is OK battery is new. Testing with meter has not shown current draw when key off but now & then with car parked I have rarely detected a 'click' sound coming from under the dash? Or firewall? On the passanger side.
This is very inconsistent & hard to get a bearing on. It may do it 2 or 3 times then you could run over to the parked car & stand for an hour & not hear it again.
Car is otherwise immaculate. Any ideas folks?
Thanks,

When they checked the alt output, did they check for a bad diode?

Yes, the shop had checked the alternator & said the diode checked OK & no current draw when shut off.
We finally got around the problem simply by using one of those battery terminal switches. A minor inconvenience but the car is used infrequently.
Thanks.
