I ran out of fuel, right at the turn of gas station, pushed the car a few paces and filled it. Then engine wont start. It seems that fuel pump is pumping the fuel but engine just wont roll. what could be the problem?

running avehicle out of fuel is a good way to blow out the fuel pump due to the fuel is what cools and lubricates it, and when you run out the pump burns out.

it seems the fuel pump is working fine. on turn of the ingnition key i can hear the pump and fuel does reach the throttle body. it seems like the problem is with priming it.

can you verify the fuel pressure? how about try dumping some gas down the throttle body or giving it some starting fluid and trying to start it, does she fire up now?

I put some gas down the throttle body but did not fire up. i am not sure how i can measure the fuel pressure though. What do you mean by giving it some starting fluid?

Thanks for your response.
