1985 Chrysler Le Baron power light

My car became sluggish, then power light came on, no power when push on excelerator, I had it idiling, when I pushed on the gas, I heard a click, click, in the engine compartment. I shut it off, now it won't start at all. It tries to turnover, but doesn't.

Measure the voltage across the battery. If it is less than 12.6 volts, charge it for a half hour at a slow rate, then try to start the engine. When the engine is running, measure the battery voltage again. It must be between 13.75 and 14.75 volts. If it is less than 13.75 volts, there is a charging system problem.
