I own a 1999 Dodge grand Caravan SE. She's got about 91000 on her. A few weeks back the transmission started slipping. I was barely driving it. Then the check engine light came on. Right around the same time it would drive normal for a bit then would be stuck in second gear. Now all off the sudden it barely goes at all. My DH changed out the transmission filter but that didn't help at all. We had a friend plug it into his computer and we got these trouble codes :
P1787 : Manafactuer Control Transmission
P0731 : Gear 1 Ratio incorrect
PO732 : Gear 2 Ratio incorrect
PO 733 : Gear 3 Ratio incorrect
PO 700 Trans Control System Malfunction.
We are just at a loss as to what to do. At this point it is not drivable so we are trying to decide if we should tow it to the Dodge Dealer or to a private Tranny shop. We are on such a tight budget (we have 6 kids ) we just cannot afford to take it all over the place.
