Hello

i have a 2.8 chrysler grand voyager deisel automatic car and for the past few days the yellow engine light comes on. It is not flashing and goes out sometimes. I took it to the dealers and they connected it up to the computer. They said that they could not locate a problem and told me that they had deleted it but the next day it came on again.

In the manual it says that the OBC has picked up on something and it could be a gas problem or fuel quality but I am putting the highest quality deisel in?

When the Check Engine light comes on, a diagnostic fault code has been stored in memory, even if the light goes back out. The mechanic has to read the code with their plug-in computer before he has the option of erasing it. That code indicates the circuit or system with the problem, not the specific part. He should have recorded the code on the back of the repair order. Simply erasing it doesn't make the problem go away.

What you're refering to has nothing to do with fuel quality. Any diagnostic fault code that causes the Check Engine light to turn on is related to something that could adversely affect tail pipe emissions.

"OBD2" is on-board diagnostics, version 2 which came around in 1996 models. It is a standardized system used on all cars sold in the U.S.
