Noise from bell housing
Transmission problem
2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 165000 miles
I have a knocking noise coming from the bell housing area of the transmission, it only does this when it is warmed up, does not do it when cold, also when you give it a little gas the noise goes away.
The van runs fine, transmission never slips or stalls just sounds like someone tapping on the bell housing with a hammer when idling in gear, does not do it when in park or neatural.
Removed dust/flywheel cover and as far as i could tell all looks normal.

Hi there,
Thank you for the donation,
Check that all the torque converter bolts are tight and also carefully inspect around the converter attach points for any cracking of the drive plate, start here.

HI there , try unbolting the torque converter and spinning by hand and listen for any noise, try this next.

Sounds like the center of flywheel is broken out. You will need local repair shop to remove transaxle and inspect.
