Brakes problem
2000 Chrysler Concorde V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Car suddenly had a hard brake pedal, with a loud air sound coming from the pedal. We checked the fluid & it was low, filled it but that didn't help. I let it sit overnight, next morning car wouldn't stop at all. We were in the middle of moving, so I just wanted to get the car to the new house. Next day I slowly drove the car , only stopping once at a red light. After stopping the car starting jerking, the engine sputtered & I barely made it to the driveway of the new place. Now it won't turn over, it sputters like there is no gas or it is getting to much air. Could this be a vac line? Are the brakes & engine stall connected? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If the brake pedal was hard, that tells me there is a problem with the brake booster. It is the large round thing behind the master cylender. What I want you to do is check the large vacuum hose to it. If it looks good at both the engine and the booster, disconnect it from the booster and plug it. See if the car starts.

Let me know what you find.
