1999 Chrysler Concorde Went dead

The car has been running fine; then, I was going up a hill and it just died. I stopped turned it off, restarted and took back off. However, there was a funny nosie when i first cranked it, not a knocking but a swooshing sound. After it died and I cranked it back up the noise was gone. Help, I am a nursing student with two kids so funds are low. Can u please help me.
