1997 Chrysler Concorde Over Charging The Battery

The battery is being "Over Charged" It`s my understanding that the votage regulator is not contained in the Alternator but instead is in the PCU unite that is located under the Air Clearner Box, right side of engine compartment. The voltage reading across the battery is 16 plus volts.
Check the connectors to the PCU, all clean, all good.
Question should I replace both PUC & Alternator to correct the over charging problem?

Hi kingsover, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation.

Your alternator is producing output voltages but its not being controlled by the regulator which is controlled by the computer-have the computer checked out or replace it as you wish.
