Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Chrysler Concorde 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently brought my car to a shop to have head gaskets put in. They called me and said it was done so we went to pick it up and it would not start, so they looked at it and they did not put the fuel line on correctly and also the injector wires were bare, some were showing some wires, so they said they were going to tape them up. They said it ran fine when they test drove it before we picked it up, I guess my question is, would them not putting the fuel line on correctly cause the engine control module to go out? When we tried to start it, it was smoking really bad and gas was pouring out of the exhaust.

Well it can definitely cause a fault code and cause it to run funny. But, they should have fixed that in the shop since they caused the problem. My main concern is the wires that are bare and tapped up. You never ever use electrical tape as a solution to bare wires. Preferably the wire is replaced but it can be cut to remove the bad section of wire, be soldered back, and have heat shrink tubing applied. If you are having ECM problems from this ordeal I would definitely consult the bad wires there.
