Hi all. I have an A/C refrigerant leak that seems to be spraying from under the radiator on the driver-side.

In looking at the radiator, it looks as if there are two fairly large radiators sandwiched together, along with a very small one on the grill side of both of them.
Are there refrigerant tubes going to a radiator in front of the car and if so, where on the driver-side could a leak occur? In looking over there, I don't seem to see any joining pipes. All I thought I saw was tranny fluid lines coming in on that side.

EDIT: I went out there and yes, there are tubes coming from my A/C system going to the radiator(s), BUT they go in on the passenger side.

Any ideas? The leak is bad enough that it misted out when I tried to put in refrigerant.

Thanks in advance. Rob

Hi there,

What you are looking at is the A/C condenser, it sits in front of the radiator, I would say it has developed a crack, this will have to be replaced.

Thanks!

I can't really see in there. Can this condenser be taken off by itself? I know I may have to pull the radiator, but does this little condenser have fittings so I can take just it off and replace just it? Also, is the second big radiator for the tranny? Seems odd that it would need that much cooling. I've never owned a car that had a huge radiator for the tran.

Hi there,

The smaller cooler will be for the transmission oil, it may be an after market add on cooler, the condenser will come out independently, but as I live in Australia I don't see these cars so I have no first hands knowledge, but I can find more info if you need.
