1998 Chrysler Cirrus with the 2.5L V6, 180,000 miles. Was running fine, turned it off one night, would not start the next morning, has not started since.
I have verified a yellow but present spark at the passenger side front sparkplug when cranked. I assume that rules out things like the timing belt and distributor?
I do not hear the "whir" at the filler cap when the key is turned to "on", so I am suspicious of the fuel system.
I checked the fuses and fuel pump relay and voltage is present on the fuel pump relay output pin when the key is "on". However, I am getting no voltage on any of the pins on the 8 pin connector behind the back seat on the driver's side. The Haynes book says this should be a 4 pin connector for the fuel pump, but mine is an 8 pin connector. Some of the wire colors seem to relate to the schematic, though, so I am assuming this is the right connector.
I have checked the ASD and fuel pump relays and both seem to be OK. I have swapped them with other relays from the car of the same type, but it still won't start.
Are there other connectors between the relay and the connector? Assuming that is the problem, any suggestions on how to trace that and track it down? Any suggestions on what to look at next?
Thanks.

one way to check your fuel pump is to disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail which is a quick connect/ disconnect fitting usually located on the passenger side of engine. when disconnected make sure gas line is facing away from you have someone turn over engine just a few turns. if fuel pump is working fuel will squirt out of hose. Do not turn the engine over repeatedly or you can cause a fire you only need a few turns of the engine to tell. the fuel may even squirt out when key is turned on so try that first.
