When I put my key in the ignition, it makes one click sound and it wont start, what do you believe the problem is

Very common problem. Worn contacts in the starter solenoid. Keep trying it; it will crank eventually. The contacts can be replaced by a competent do-it-yourselfer. Cost is about $15.00.
You can also replace the entire starter but cost is a lot more.
