A/C Problems

I have a 1999 Chrysler 300M 3.5L V6 93k miles

My Air Conditioning recently quit working. I noticed it started getting weaker so I had it recharged and it worked for about two weeks then it wouldn't get cold anymore. When it was getting weaker the A/C would make noises every 20 seconds or so. Noises that sounded like letting air out of a balloon slowly or a hissing noise. I took the car back to the place that recharged the AC and they said that it must have a leak but there is nothing that they can do for me. I also noticed that after my last general care appointment when I had all of my belts replaced and had other general maintanence done on my car is when my A/C started getting weaker. This could be coincidence but when I turned on my A/C and accelerated from a stop my car would make a brief screeching noise when it shifted out of 1st gear. It still does this, but not all the time. I'm not sure whats wrong and I don't want to get overcharged at a mechanic shop somewhere and then the problem not even be fixed.

Repairs I've had recently:
All belts replaced
Battery replaced
EGR removed, cleaned, and re-attached
Fuel System Cleaned
Spark Plugs Replaced
Coolant System flushed and filled
Transmission Flushed and filled
Oil change

Thank you for all the help.

Sounds like the belt is too loose, have it readjusted. As for the a/c, gauges will need to be put on it to see if it does have a leak or some other problem causing the comp to cycle.

Took the car to the dealership and they say it's the evaperator that is going bad and is leaking the refridgerant. The dealership says this is a 7 hour job because they have to rip out the entire dash to get to the evaperator core. The total cost of this repair is $1055.00. I know its a lot of money but it needs to be done. Thanks for your help
